1. Engage communication channels
Internal channels
- The ELIXIR Federated Human Data (FHD) Community is the main entry-point for a Node interested in joining the FEGA Network:
- Join the ELIXIR FHD Mailing List (select “Human Data”) to hear about the latest updates and events from the FHD community. You will need to log-in into the ELIXIR intranet.
- Attend the ELIXIR FHD Community Calls to engage with the FEGA community.
- Federated EGA has mailing lists for various communications:
- General enquiries: fega-info@lists.ega-archive.org
- FEGA Strategic Committee mailing list (invitation-only): For discussing strategic planning and direction of FEGA.
- FEGA Operations Committee mailing list (invitation-only): For reviewing operational performance and coordinating technical roadmaps.
- FEGA Onboarding Nodes mailing list (invitation-only): For Onboarding Nodes with test credentials in the process of setting up their technical infrastucture and connection to Central EGA.
External channels
- Follow the EGA on socials:
- Mention Federated EGA by using the hashtag #FederatedEGA and, when possible, mention the EGA user.

3. Follow news and updates
- “The Federated European Genome–Phenome Archive as a global network for sharing human genomics data” paper published in Nature Genetics (March 2025)
- “Canada joins Federated EGA, making first major expansion beyond Europe” (March 2025)
- FAIR-FEGA kicked off in January 2025, aiming to enable, standardize, and improve high-quality FAIR data deposition into Federated EGA (January 2025)
- FEGA-Connect was launched in December 2024, aiming to develop solutions to link multi-omic sensitive data deposition databases, biobanks and derived knowledge resources. (December 2024)
- First datasets availables in the Federated EGA Network (February 2024)
- The EGA announced the first signings of the Collaboration Agreement between national Nodes and Central EGA, an important step in the formation of Federated EGA (21 September 2022)
